MANUFACTURING SOURCING

Specify the material.
Then agree the order.

A sourcing brief should explain the product you intend to make and the hair characteristics your process needs.

Describe your production process.

Tell us whether you are sourcing material for a finished attachment, a sewn product or another manufacturing process. Discuss root organisation and alignment requirements before selecting the hair. Suitability must be confirmed for the material offered.

Make the specification repeatable.

Record the required lengths, colour, processing history, quantity and end density. If you use a draw classification, write down what you expect from it. Keep supplier descriptions alongside the sample you assess so later orders can be compared with the agreed standard.

Evaluate before scaling.

Discuss a sample or pilot order with evaluation requirements agreed before shipment. Consider the product as supplied and its suitability for your intended process. Record the outcome, resolve differences and confirm the next order separately.

Discuss commercial requirements.

Include your expected order pattern and timing as an enquiry, rather than assuming a supplier can guarantee capacity. Pricing, packaging, minimum order quantity, payment and delivery require their own written agreement.

Review the quality checklist and prepare the order details.
